Senior Layout Designer / LPBU1843

Position Description:Responsible for completing the physical design of wireless IC’s in a timely manner meeting specific design requirements with minimal assistance. Responsible for taking the physical design from schematic through layout verification and Tape-out.Minimum of 1-3 years of direct Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) pHEMT, MESFET or HBT physical design experience or 3-5 years of PCB/MCM/Package physical design experience required. Experience with some of the following tools is required: AutoCAD, Cadence Virtuoso/XL, Composer (Opus), Allegro (APD), OrCAD, parasitic extraction and layout verification (Dracula or Calibre) including DRC, LVS and ERC. Must have an understanding of RF layout techniques. Additional responsibilities and qualifications include:Responsibilities:•Layout of GaAs pHEMT, MESFET or HBT integrated circuit (IC)components from schematics, diagrams or netlists utilizing commercial/Internal proprietary GaAs technologies in accordance with design rules.•Directly interfacing with the IC design engineers to produce and optimize layouts for size and performance.•Establish and meet project objectives and milestones.Qualifications:•Ability to adapt quickly to change and work in a rapidly changing environment.•Ability to coordinate and resolve issues with engineering groups.•Ability to work within schedule constraints and maintain highquality standards. •Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with multiple groups.•Must be detail oriented with strong customer service skills.Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:Education & Experience:-Technical certification in an engineering or CAD discipline and 3-5 years of PCB, MCM or Package physical design experience.Skills:-Familiar with PCB, MCM and packaging design practices and practices.-Must possess skills in the utilization of CAD tools for the generation of PCB, MCM or packaging layouts and associated documentation.-Must have knowledge of nomenclature, symbols, component placement and routing methods used in PCB,MCM, or Packaging design.Tools:Allegro (APD), OrCAD, AutoCAD.
