Senior Linux Systems Administrator at TiVo

You'll be responsible for the continuous delivery of the TiVo service, including: day-to-day operations of TiVo's Broadcast Center, application established policies and procedures to build, configure, and maintain the hardware and software infrastructure of the Broadcast Center.

Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based Broadcast Center hardware and software Troubleshoot systems problems, using all available information to recommend and implement appropriate solutions Write how-to and technical reference documentation for the system Implement system changes in accordance with existing policy and procedures Review proposed system changes As a member of a project team, execute test plans and develop and execute deployment plans Provide accurate scoping/scheduling information and identify slips or risks of slips early on in the cycle Communicate effectively with management, other group members, and interested parties in other groups Collaborate with others to achieve group and corporate objectives Develop an understanding of TiVo's business environment Here is what you'll need to be successful:
At least three years related professional experience Solid understanding of UNIX/Linux systems, networking, and distributed computing Must be self motivated with good time / project management skills, and flexibility in schedule for special projects Must have a high degree of integrity and be a team player Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong documentation skills Adaptability to changing work environments Scripting experience in any language (e.g., Perl, PHP, Tcl, Bash) Experience with web and application servers (Apache / Tomcat) and relational databases (MySQL)
