Senior Network Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for all installation and support of Pixelworks’ IT networking infrastructure.

 



RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage design of corporate network to support the stated business goals and technical requirements.Select LAN, WAN, remote access, management and monitoring hardware and software to accomplish above goals.Liaise with vendors and contractors to acquire hardware and other tools as well as to manage WAN circuits, telephone circuits and other telecom related resources.Review network utilization and performance trends and plan out future requirements to maintain acceptable performance levels and accommodate corporate traffic growth.Manage new equipment deployment and configurations as well as replacement or repair of existing hardware and software as needed.Direct staff in operational activities to ensure compliance with departmental goals, objectives, government regulations (e.g. SOX) and budget.Review on a regular basis department procedures, staffing and equipment for maximum efficiency while controlling costs.Direct the department’s personnel administration activities including job assignments, training, performance evaluation and compensation review.Maintain awareness of changing trends and regulations which might effect the department and act on as required.Make purchasing decisions to maximize value and meet budgetary goals; monitor vendors and maintain oversight and documentation of projectsTravel up to 20% including international travel to Asia is required.



QUALIFICATIONS:

· 7+ years of direct network management and implementation experience

· Certifications: CCNP or CCIE a plus

· Experience in implementing VoIP and Wireless solutions across an enterprise

· Strong competence in and understanding of Cisco and Foundry switches and routers as well as related networking equipment.

· Must work well within a team and possess excellent written and oral communication skills in addition to being organized, efficient, and capable of prioritizing multiple concurrent tasks.

· Must be able to operate independently in the absence of close guidance to correct issues and improve the operating environment.

· Must possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills in enterprise level environments, being able to logically step through issues and troubleshoot problems creatively and quickly. 

· Must be able to relate technical issues and requirements to business issues and vice versa and be able to communicate these to non-technical associates and customers.
