Job Summary

As the Senior Optics Engineer you will play a key role in transforming abstract mathematical models into real-live optical systems. Your indepth knowledge of mathematical methodes, combined with your exceptional design skills will result in a reference implementation of optical components of video processing algorithms. In close collaborations with the hardware architecture, and software teams, your goal is to lead the transition of research based algorithms toward the actual implementation.

Job Functions

Implement and optimize the optical elements if video processing algorithms for LED backlighting systems for video displays

Lead and provide technical advice and guidance to a small team engineers

Establish reference model requirements, performance goals, and project milestones

Create modular, well-organized and properly documented designs

Develop test and evaluation procedures for validation of overall system performance and modeling accuracy

Produce and maintain highly accurate documentation and code archives

Assist team members as needed

Skills and Education

Minimum of 8 years of product development experience with BS degree, or 6 years with MS degree in electrical engineering, or computer science.

Solid knowledge of video processing algorithms

Experience in designing around the reliability, chroma and spectral changes associated with white and RGB LEDs being driven in extreme ways and providing system accommodations for these dynamics

Experience with CIE Chromaticity diagram and its application to displays

Proven project experience optical designs in product environments

Excellent knowledge of optical simulation and modeling techniques

Indepth knowledge of digital video and optics theory

Broad understanding of optical systems

Ideal candidate would be methodical, detail-oriented, have a thorough approach to problem solving, have excellent communication skills,
