Senior Project Manager

Job Description:
The Senior Project Manager will report to the VP of Engineering, Industrial Division and will lead and manage the development of complex electro-mechanical products for use in a wide range of markets.  The project teams are multidisciplinary in nature, involving mechanical engineering, electronics design, firmware and software development.  A strong background in product development is required.  The responsibilities of this role include the direction of internal development teams and coordination with the technical teams of Immersion’s partner companies around the world.  Providing guidance to other project managers at Immersion on PM techniques will also be important.  Working either independently or as part of a larger team, the candidate should have the ability to make sound technical decisions, prioritize project deadlines, and follow up with critical items.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have five to seven years of direct Project Management experience taking new products from concept phase to mass production.  Experience with hands-on product development is a plus.  The candidate must have excellent people skills and should be comfortable working closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers as well as the ability to interface with senior management on project status and reporting.

 

Requirements:

·  B.S. in Engineering, M.S. preferred

·  Must have 5 to 7 years experience of direct Project Management taking new products from concept phase to mass production

·  Must have a good background in product development processes and direct product development experience is a plus.

·  Strong leadership capabilities, communication, and people skills

·  Must be proficient in MS Project as well as other project tracking and reporting tools

·  Experience managing international project teams is a plus

·  PMP Certification is a plus
