Senior Tax Accountant

A challenging opportunity for a detail oriented Senior Tax Accountant with exceptional analytical and organizational skills. This position is responsible for preparing sales & use tax returns in a multi-state environment and remitting taxes on a timely basis. As a Senior Tax Accountant your responsibilities will include: • Accurate and timely preparation of sales, use, and property tax returns, annual reports and other miscellaneous tax filings to ensure tax compliance • Responsible for remittance of sales/use and property taxes • Respond to requests from taxing authorities using both verbal and written communication • Perform monthly use tax calculation and general ledger account reconciliations • Responsible for completing customer (internal & external) requests in a timely manner including reviewing customer tax exemption certificates for accuracy • Assist with sales & property tax audits, including gathering information/data required by the audit • Review returns, payments and various workpapers prepared and data gathered by others • Participates in various tax projects as needed • Perform internal audits to ensure accurate tax data in source system • Responsible for training various internal departments on tax related issues to ensure tax compliance • Research state unclaimed property regulations, and prepare filings and other due diligence to ensure compliance. • Recommend and update current tax policies and procedures • Assist in gathering data necessary to provide information requested by parent company. • Identify opportunities to improve and automate the tax processes while ensuring systems integrity, including documenting and issuing written tax policies and procedures • Conduct research and advise management on various tax issues, including minimizing audit risk   Your qualifications must include the following: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred but not necessary • A minimum of 5 years related experience • Basic knowledge of trial balances and general ledger accounting • Exceptional technical skills and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment • Heavy Microsoft Office background, particularly Excel, required • Vertex and Oracle experience a plus.   http://jobs-canon.icims.com/ If interested, please apply online at http://track.jobviper.com/ViewJob.asp?id=508668-3-323 Job Title: Senior Tax AccountantCompany: Canon Business SolutionsLocation: US-NJ-BurlingtonJob Category: Accounting/Finance/InsuranceCareer Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)Reference Code: Accounting/Finance/Insurance
