An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Technical Support Specialist at MEPPI.  As the Senior Technical Support Specialist you will perform service support activities for MEPPI Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems Group, single phase and three phase UPS systems and peripheral products; Must be able to travel 20%.

 

This position will:

 

·  Perform technical support on single and three phase UPS products and associated peripheral products for MEPPI UPS Group, authorized services providers (ASP) and end users. Perform field work to provide, assist and/or direct technical support, sites testing and technical presentations.

·  Review FSR’s (field service report) for completeness. Analyze reports to ensure problems were remedied or call-back necessary. Collect, manage and report data to assist probability programming and provide quality measurements to UPSD management.

·  Maintain and distribute technical updates; i.e., service procedures, software, service news bulletins and engineering change notifications, to MEPPI UPS group and ASP’s. Maintain records and track for quality system compliance.

·  Manage RMA and warranty claims processes including inspection, testing, parts distribution, returned parts inspection and recordkeeping functions. Provide input to Service Coordinator. Track parts failures and usage. Make recommendations. Communicate with management regarding failure rates and/or design issues and needed improvements.

·  Maintain 7x24x365 on-call program. Ensure service response to customer and published escalation programs are followed.

·  Maintain updated key contact list of MEPPI UPSD and APS personnel. Periodically check 800 emergency service logs and review with 800 services for response delay issues. Inform Service management for corrective actions.

·  Manage product support for various software options used for remote monitoring of UPS Systems Group products including vendor issues, product documentation and technical support to customers. Maintain software database and version controls.

·  Establish technical liaison with MEPPI expatriates and Kobe technical support personnel. Assist with factory tests/demonstrations.

·  Manage UPSD spare part lists including updates and distribution. Semi-annually review lists to address min/max, consideration of longer lead times that might affect service support of UPS products.

·  Produce letters, memos, e-mails, reports and other communications as required for internal/external distribution.

·  Create and maintain all ISO procedures for service department functions as required by current ISO standards.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

 

·  Associates degree in electrical/electronics, or equivalent discipline plus 5-7 years experience providing technical and/or field support of UPS power systems, multi-module systems and/or site performance testing or equivalent education and experience.

·  Developed knowledge of UPS, multi-module systems, battery and DC systems; remote monitoring.

·  Developed knowledge of field acceptance testing, test equipment, test reports, data analysis, safety requirements, and OSHA and IEEE standards.

·  Developed verbal and written communication skills

·  Working knowledge of computers and MS Office Products software.
