Senior Test Product Engineer

GigOptix is Based in Palo Alto, CA, and is a fast-growing optical and RF components company that develops custom MMICs and multichip modules (MCM) targeting the medium and long-haul optical transmission market as well as high-performance test and measurement and broadband communications markets. We are currently seeking a hands on senior position responsible for the smooth product release of new high volume components to contract manufacturer.

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

1.  The ideal candidate has strong EE background with experience in RF, Microwave or Optical components in a high volume component industry.

2.  Programming experience using VBA,TestStand, Labview or other language.

3.  Familiar with new product introduction concepts and a demonstrated capability to provide meaningful inputs during the design phase of the product.

4.  Open to travel domestically and overseas if needed to support the successful launch of new products.

5.  Proven ability to design automated test stations to verify product functionality.

6.  Familiar with data analysis techniques and able to make product yield improvements based on data analysis.

 

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1.  BS or MS Engineering Degree with at least 5 years applicable experience.

2.  Experienced with databases and able to write queries to retrieve data.

3.  Experienced with component packaging methods and assembly processes.

4.  Experienced with a programming language (ideally VBA, TestStand or Labview).

5.  Familiar with Automatic Test Equipment.

6.  Familiar with bench equipment and RF/Microwave measurement techniques.

7.  Ability to work independently.

8.  Must be a self-starter, comfortable working with small teams as well as large outside service providers/customers.
