Service Chemist

Primary Function:

 

Provide service repairs, installations and customer support, and assist with application development for at least one primary Company product line. 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Perform maintenance on in-house mass spectrometersProvide field service repairs of mass spectrometers Perform field start-up of mass spectrometersProvide technical support via telephone and modemEvaluate customer needs, including diagnosing and prescribing the correct service response for instrument problemsAssist with customer demonstrations and factory acceptance tests Conduct in-house and field training sessionsAssist with the development of new applications and customer sample evaluations to support future sales opportunitiesAssist with the development of technical marketing and sales literature Provide written documents to support technical related issues (e.g., service bulletins, system configurations)Prepare manuals and user documentation supportProvide final test and application support to the Manufacturing Department

 

Job Requirements:

 BS degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Chemical EngineeringExperience working with mass spectrometers and other analytical instrumentation a plusAbility to work independentlyGood mechanical and/or electrical aptitudeGood communication skills, both written and verbalGood organizational skillsGood interpersonal skillsProficient with Microsoft PC based softwareA minimum of 50% travel per year including international
