Position Description:
The Conexant Systems Set-top box VLSI engineering team develops complex multimedia SoC ASICs and subsystems for set-top box applications in the satellite, cable, terrestrial, and IP markets. The candidate will be member of a VLSI design engineering and verification team with a focus on video processing IP design. The responsibilities will involve micro-architecture, RTL design, implementation and verification of the latest video processing algorithms. The designer will create complex designs using Verilog and construct a bit or cycle exact C simulation of the hardware architecture. The candidate will support IP integration, chip level verification, and firmware/software development with detailed design documents, HW simulation, and functional verification models.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering. They will have a good understanding of the IC development processes and experience in the design, verification and C modeling of VLSI hardware systems. They will be highly motivated, work well in a team environment and have good communication skills. In depth knowledge backed by on-the-job IC experience (4+ years) is required in some or all of the following areas:-Video scaling, image and digital signal processing-Graphics and video displays-Pipelined datapath logic and filter design-The entire ASIC design flow including architecture, Verilog RTL design, simulation, synthesis, and timing closure-C, C++, and/or System-C programming languages-Some scripting (shell scripts, TCL, perl, etc)
