Position DescriptionSHIPPING/RECEIVING CLERK

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCorrectly identify incoming material receipts of parts and supplies, match them with the correct purchase orders, data enter the receipts into the computer and route the material to the correct destination in the plant.  Work with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to resolve any discrepancies that arise.Package instruments and spare parts correctly for safe shipment to worldwide destinations, accurately transacting the shipments on the computer and using various shippers’ software to prepare waybills, and other shipping documents.  Work with Production Control, Marketing and Accounts Receivable to resolve discrepancies that arise during the shipping process.Must be competent in, processing international shipments, including understanding Shipper’s Export Declarations, Commercial Invoices, and other export paperwork.Monitor inventory levels of all the shipping supplies and work with Purchasing to order the correct amounts of these supplies.Maintain the shipping and receiving area in an orderly and safe condition.Assist as required in the stockroom in kitting, cycle counting and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 DESIRED BACKGROUND AND EDUCATIONMany of the above duties require a strong comfort level, confidence and, most importantly, accuracy in the use of Windows-based inventory control computer software for purchase order receipts, sales order shipments, and inventory stockroom transactions.  Must be able to communicate to all levels, able to multi-task, be a team player and be committed to quality work.

 Specifically, the candidate must have 1-2 years computer recent transaction experience in:(1) Purchase Order receiving activities. (2) Sales Order shipping activities.(3) Inventory stockroom activities. 

(4)  On line UPS, FedEX, domestic & International activities. Overall, the ideal candidate will have 2-5 years experience and will have worked for an electronics manufacturing related company.  High school diploma or equivalent experience and strong command of English desired.
