Purpose: We are currently seeking a Controller for our Memphis locatino to lead the financing and accounting responsibilities and advise the General Manager on business decisions. This individual will manage forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and the development and implementation of sound processes and procedures. The person shall perform both hands on accounting duties as well as manages a small accounting department. Establishes and maintains accounting practices and relationships with the financial community. Principle Accountabilities: Reporting to the VP of Finance for FlexLogistics, the Controller, will: Coordinate and oversee the financial aspects of the assigned business segment Prepare Business Unit forecast Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, 12 month rolling forecasts and annual audits. Manages AP, AR, G/L, payroll and accounting close Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value, including complying with the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Reviews GL reconciliations and maintain fixed assets depreciation schedule. Review company financial statements for accuracy and clarity. Manages P&L for multiple complex programs and instituting financial controls and guidance. Supports the management of the site. Performs supervisory duties of department staff (6-7 people), coordinates staff for coverage in all related areas of the department. Provides leadership, training and supervision within the department. Requirements BA/BS in Finance or Accounting desired, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred. At least 5 years of corporate experience in accounting and financing and at least 3 years controller experience managing a large site ($100M + Annually) Must understand manufacturing/services terminology and environment. Ability to understand and report on some or all cost essentials for Operations expenditures including: hardware and software capital, maintenance agreements, consulting, human resources and travel. Ability to accurately explain forecast variances both in terms of actual vs. forecasts and current forecast vs. prior forecasts. Knowledgeable in calculating Return on Investment (ROI) for large Operations purchases. Strong communication, organization, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of GAAP rules/audit procedures. Strong presentation skills to facilitate performing financial presentations to senior company management Budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning experience is required. Experience with reconciling customer/program accounts a plus. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets, word-processing and database application software. Excellent analytical, financial, and quantitative skills. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and drive projects through completion in a fast-paced environment.
