Software Automation Engineer – 3029

 

Be a key player on the design team for large Teradyne systems with significant automated handling subsystem content.  The automation is a core part of these systems, which are manufactured and maintained in volume for multiple customers.

Specify performance and architecture of automated material handling systems that are part of a larger Teradyne tester.

Manage third-party development using commercial automation components.

Write control software to interface tester and high-level software with automation system. 

Create enhancements and improvements to system via low- and high-level software.

 

Basic Qualifications, Skills and Education:

 

BSEE, BSCS or equivalent experience required, MS preferred.

Ten years' experience programming robots and automation systems, especially six-axis robots and associated pneumatic end effectors.

While the emphasis is on control software, the ideal candidate also has experience with six-axis robot hardware and associated end effectors

Proficient in use of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.  Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary design team.

Either C++ or C# experience a must.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills and experience interfacing with vendors and customers.

Project management experience also preferred.
