Job Description
Qualcomm MediaFLO designs MediaFLO technology as a comprehensive, end-to-end solution designed specifically to address the inherent challenges of efficiently and cost-effectively distributing mass volumes of high-quality mobile multimedia to wireless subscribers. The MediaFLO System, comprised of the MediaFLO Media Distribution System and FLO Technology, addresses the usability, network capacity, and device constraints typical of video delivery to a mobile handset. Designed from the ground up with mobility in mind, the MediaFLO System delivers a compelling user experience for the mobile masses. Operators can leverage the MediaFLO System to increase ARPU and reduce churn by offering enhanced multimedia services. Content providers can take advantage of a new distribution channel to extend their brand to mobile users. Device manufacturers will benefit from increased demand for multimedia-enabled handsets as consumer appetite grows for rich content provided through MediaFLO.

This position will allow a prospective candidate to work on the most advanced leading wireless broadcast technology built from the ground up.. Candidate will be expected to work on complex embedded software as the protocol stack on the communication modem on MFLO enabled Devices.

Specifically, candidate will develop, integrate and debug control layer, mac layer and physical layer protocol software, and liaise with engineering teams within various organizations, such as, R&D system engineering team, hardware engineering team and integration team.

Candidate will need to interface with cross-functional development teams within MediaFLO including phone platform code developers, MediaFLO BREW application developers, Tools developers, and OEM Relations representatives.

Skills/Experience
0 to 7 years experience in professional software development, including designing, implementing, debugging and documenting complex software applications.

Experience developing and debugging in embedded environments highly desired.

Handset software experience is a plus.

Experience in C or C++ is a must.

DSP programming experience is desired.

Windows programming is desired.

Experience with BREW is desired.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, team work skills, enthusiasm and high energy are highly desired.



Additional Skills
General knowledge of communication protocols, Real Time Embedded operating systems concepts and low level programming.Familiarity with object-oriented design.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
