Responsibilities:Develop/maintain automation framework and automation scripts, using C#, .NET, internal tools and other third party tools. Maintain, extend and enhance automation harnesses and testing infrastructure. Design and develop automation utilities, primarily in C#. Develop, communicate, maintain, and enforce standards and guidelines for the automation effort. Work to improve automation development efficiency, maintainability, and re-usability. Ensure on-time delivery of planned automated scenarios. Ensure test case design and execution methodologies are technically sound. Troubleshoot automated test failures and resolve issues found during test execution. Review manual test cases requiring automation or simulation tools. Write specifications for new automation / simulation tools. Ensure automated testing goals for the release are achieved. Work closely with QA and development teams to ensure adequate/maximum automation coverage/effectiveness. Minimum Requirements:The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of testing methodology and test automation concepts. 2+ years working knowledge of .NET programming, C# preferred. 2+ years test automation experience, including contributing to automation framework and script development. Ability to develop a clear and concise testing strategy. A sound knowledge of software development principles is a plus. Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to look for non-standard solutions Ability to develop test automation packages which are easy to run and require minimal manual intervention. Knowledge and experience in designing, executing and analyzing automation tests. Experienced in QA methodologies, black box testing, test planning and test case experience. Scripting experience (e.g. VBScript, Perl, XML, etc) is essential. Ability to make wise tradeoffs in design approach and scope to meet deadlines. Ability to work closely with development to understand requirements. Ability to carry out role independently and resolve issues with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Outstanding attention to detail. Strong team player. Extensive working knowledge of the Windows environment, Mac/Linux a plus.
