Software QA Tester

Quartics, a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Irvine, California, is focused on development of codec and transport agnostic media processors and applications.

The consumer market for flat-panel displays, digital cameras, digital videos and music is growing multifold while broadband and wireless connectivity and video-based content is becoming ubiquitous. Lower prices and greater availability of these consumer electronics devices, digital content and their enabling networks and infrastructure increase the appeal to home users and businesses.

These enablers have created a market opportunity to move digital media from any source - cable, satellite, Internet or PC - to a variety of displays at home or in the office. Quartics has seized the opportunity as it develops media processors to handle multiple video standards (PC graphics, MPEG2/4, WM9, DivX, H.264 with ARIB, AVS and other video codecs) to move media over IP and wireless networks. The Company deploys a configurable, small die size processing architecture together with proprietary post-processing and image enhancement algorithms to deliver differentiation through programmable, HD quality, low cost video and encoders, transcoders and decoders.

We are looking for an addition to our QA Team -

The Software Testers will be an integral part of our testing team.The expected functions will include black box testing following existing test plans and writing new test planst, designing new test cases, operating automated test suites, and analyzing defect reports.  This role will also provide leadership duties for the QA Intern Team. 

Requirements:Strong QA methodology experience including test planning, test reporting, bug reporting/management and overall product life cycle3+ years of software testing experienceWorking knowledge of Widows/LinuxExperience with scripting languate (i.e. Perl, VBScript) and Mercury QuickTest ProExcellent analytical skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsKnowlege of C/C++ is a plusWorking in an Audio/Video environment is a HUGE plus

Education Required:BS in a technical area or equivalent certification
