Position Description:This position is responsible for the development of field activities, deliverables and IBM business partner enablement as it relates to solution development and selling in their solution focus area. This person will work closely with IBM and LSI product marketing, LSI Solutions Group, and LSI Partner Marketing to create go to market strategies with ISV partners in the Americas.The person in this role will work closely with IBM Sell-with Teams, Director, and Partner Marketing Manager to develop customized deliverables and action plans to drive IBM storage sales specific for the targeted solution. Additionally the Solutions Architect will work with the Customer Intimacy (Voice of the Customer) entities in LSI. The candidate must be capable of organizing and communicating within IBM management, IBM Marketing, and channel partner organizations. The ability to rapidly assimilate field knowledge, providing for new product direction and customer strategy and tactics.The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of application and appliance technology, IT solutions, and products and services designed to help the OEM and partner formulate and execute selling strategies.? Create field focus through workshops, onsite customer visits, and architecture design to drive solution enablement and product adaptation for IBM and IBM business partners? Act as the technical SME for solution focused selling? Assists in the on-going sales education/development of the LSI, IBM and reseller sales teams.? Continue forward looking focus for new products, applications, and vendor solutions that can be accessed and set for evaluation of integrating into customer consumables. BA or BS Degree, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science, and 3-5+ years of related experience in sales or technical position OR Associate degree or equivalent with 5 - 7 + years experience in a pre-sales technical and/or sales position? Subject matter expert in one of the following areas: Oracle, DB2, NAS, VMware, Microsoft server applications, Disaster Recovery, Storage Product Marketing, or Storage Project Management.? Demonstrated knowledge of storage and server integration, backup and restores solutions and/or database administration.? Strong customer relations skills and understanding of team sales objectives.? Problem solving skills as related to and demonstrated sense of urgency in fulfilling customer and sales team requirements. ? Previous solutions or storage sales experience is strongly preferred.? Strong written, oral, and exemplary presentation skills.? Ability to be proactive and work independently, as well as contributing as a team player.? Evidence of professional energy and excellence.
