Sr. HR Generalist

Summary:

With minimal direction the Sr. HR Generalist administers, plans, guides and is responsible for controlling the administration of human resources policies and procedures for all HR functional areas in two divisions in two separate locations.  Collecting and analyzing HR data, making recommendations to management and applying judgment in various situations the Sr. Generalist relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish these goals.  To meet department deliverables and business performance expectations for both divisions they develop solutions to a variety of complex problems that are consistent with organizational objectives. 

 

Essential Job functions & Responsibilities:

·  Prepares internal employee and management communications regarding all HR functional areas.

·  Participates in and/or supports the development and execution of HR strategies to meet both division’s business objectives.

·  Manages daily business activities and tasks in a global organization.

·  Applies mentoring and coaching skills to motivate and guide employees’ and management development and encourages all to stretch and expand their capabilities.

·  Builds collaborative relationships on multiple organizational levels, with managers, partners and peers from diverse backgrounds across functional lines.

·  Drives continuous improvement programs across area of responsibility.

·  Shares best practices with partners and peer groups.

·  Thinks strategically and plans tactically.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·  Demonstrate subject matter expertise in one or more HR disciplines.

·  Familiar with a variety of HR concepts, best practices, and procedures.

·  Able to demonstrate a successful record managing large-scale, project execution and meeting delivery schedules.

·  Experience meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in delivering programs and services; talks and acts with customers in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

·  Understand the corporate business plan and his/her role in supporting it.

·  Apply knowledge of HR regulations and laws appropriately.

·  Advanced level customer service skills to manage expectations, perceptions and outcomes.

·  Prioritize multiple tasks, managing conflicting deadlines, and working effectively in a dynamic environment.

·  Exemplify effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

·  Intermediate level skill working with MS Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

·  Advocate point of view when appropriate.

·  Apply skills of persuasion and the ability to create consensus.

·  Formal meeting organization and facilitation skills.

·  Quickly learns and assimilates new business processes, ideas and concepts to formulate conclusions and deliver results.

·  Works with integrity.  Maintains credibility by meeting commitments.

·  Actively pursues opportunities for learning and self development.

·  Analysis-level analytical skills necessary to assess information and apply judgment in decision making.

·  Understands span of control to escalate or delegate issues to appropriate levels.

 

Education & Experience:

·  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related area is beneficial.

·  10 years of HR experience.

 

Travel requirements:

·  Occasional domestic and international travel on short notice.

·  Regular travel between locations and less frequently beyond with advance notice.

·  Current passport and no history of declined visas, or entry refusal to any country.
