Job Summary:

A lead role within IT Operations responsible for architecting, implementation, monitoring, and support of the network, telephony, and security components for moderate to complex environments. 

 

Major Functions:

 Architect, design, implement and document all production and pre-production network, telephony, and security solutions.Work with application architects and software engineers to define requirements and standards.Act in a leadership role in project planning, design and implementation of new services.Ongoing network, telephony, and security administration including monitoring, proactive maintenance, and problem resolution.Develop and follow policies and procedures for infrastructure administration and problem resolution.Communicate ideas clearly with users, management, and peers.Member of team supporting systems 24x7, including on-call and off-hour duties as needed.

 

Education and/or Experience:

A technology related bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience plus 7 years of related experience. An advanced degree may reduce the minimum experience required.

Special Skills and/or Certification Requirements: Cisco Certifications, Network+, CCIE Preferred

 

 

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift networking equipment.

 

 

Work Environment: Senior Network Administrators must multitask extremely well.  They must juggle their time on multiple projects and troubleshoot level 3 help desk tickets related to their position.  Most work at least 40 hours a week and may have to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines or solve difficult or unexpected problems, and they will be required to travel globally.  At times there will be considerable pressure to meet technical goals within short timeframes.
