Sr. Payroll Specialist

CPP or FPC certified prefered but not required.


Responsible for the preparation of payroll inputs to the payroll system for more than 2000 employees and the preparation and distribution of payroll payments. Maintains payroll records and prepare reports as required by internal processes as well as for governmental reporting and compliance. Coordinates and processes other payments to employees such as sales commissions, bonus payments, etc.

Responsibilities:

- Process transmission of time and attendance data for bi-weekly payroll

- Process bi-weekly transfer of payroll data to payroll vendor

- Processing of payrolls (process/delivery of paychecks/direct deposit)

- Creation of off-cycle manual checks outside of regular payrolls

- Process garnishments and wage attachments

- Internal reporting

- Answer employee questions, troubleshooting issues, resolving discrepancies


Requirements:

- 7-10 years experience with payroll processing and/or payroll accounting is required

-Must have knowledge of payroll systems and payroll tax laws

-Excellent communication and customer service skills

-Verify US federal and state payroll tax payments, payroll tax returns and W2 statements.

-Produce various reports from Report Writer.

-Ability to meet scheduled deadlines in a fast pace environment

-Strong attention to detail and ability to multi task

-Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information

-Self starter with strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills

 

Ideal candidate will have experience with one of more of the following software: SAP, Kronos and ProBusiness
