Duties

 

This position will be responsible for developing advanced wireless technology for hearing aid applications.
This position also will work with project team members within the department and participate as a project team member on wireless projects within the company.

Essential Job Functions

Project Activities
• Develop wireless technology as part of a technology team including the transition and participation in product development activities to bring wireless hearing aid product to market.

Technology and Product Development
• Develop wireless technology targeted for ultra low voltage solutions.
• Perform wireless development activities as well as system level hearing aid development.
• Test and certify wireless performance with respect to product specification and compatibility.
• Provide assistance in development of next generation wireless solutions.
• Develop innovative test and evaluation procedures.
• Interface with vendors with respect to specifications and component development.

Continuous Improvement Projects
• Monitor products and processes for opportunities of continuous improvement.

Check and verify quality.
Support corporate health and safety objectives.
React to change productively and handle other essential duties as assigned.

Equipment Operation:

• Wireless and analog simulations tools
• Familiarity with RF Spectrum analyzers, power meters and vector network analyzers.
• Familiar with high-level languages such as C and MatLab
• Familiarity with RF Screen Room measurements
• Knowledge of advanced data acquisition techniques

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for performance of essential duties:

1. Education: BSEE degree or equivalent required. Graduate degree preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years wireless experience and in a development environment required. This requirement may be waived for applicants with graduate degrees and 2+ years experience.
3. Experience with short range wireless systems (Bluetooth, 802.11, UWB, IrDA, Spread Spectrum).
4. Experience with communications systems and protocol stacks.
5. Experience with wireless Internet technologies such as WAP and WirelessWeb.
6. Experience with 3rd generation cellular technology and products desired.
7. Experience with electro-acoustic products highly desired.
8. Experience with wireless data networking environments and other wireless standards.
9. Desired experience in ultra low-power wireless circuit design, antenna design, DSP and communication systems as well as experience in developing and releasing wireless products.
10. Knowledge of RF wireless technology and digital design required.
11. Must have strong communication skills and be able to work in fast paced, team-oriented environment.
12. Good interpersonal skills required.
