GENERAL SUMMARYAn organized approach to transferring designs from development to product design An overall familiarity with semiconductor equipment, or process machine design, or optical lithography, or deposition or etch plasma chamber design Familiarity with Design For Manufacturability and Design for Serviceability processes An organized approach to engineering product design process with full lifecycle experience Experience in coordinating the efforts of multiple vendors to deliver an integrated system
CONTROLS/SENSORS/ELECTRONICSExperience with embedded and distributed control system architectures in real time applications Operation of control and data acquisition systems in harsh EMI environments at data rates up to 100 mega-samples per second Design of controls and interlocks for failsafe operation of hazardous systems Precision laser control for power, triggering, and timing Significant experience with radiation measurements for wavelengths in the range of ~10 nm and ~10m Significant experience with charged particle diagnostics and plasma diagnostics in general
SUMMARY
Responsible for managing people, functions, and product areas. Provides professional expertise or services by leveraging the knowledge and skills of others. Performs engineering project management for EUV Product Development. Responsibilities include daily management of design teams, risk analysis, resource management, budget management, critical path analysis, definition of scope, work breakdown structure, schedule, project review, and execution of the Product Development Process with a cross functional team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Applies general knowledge of technical concepts and theories, over a broad range of functional areas and utilizes subject matter experts and functional technical leadership to resolve issues and solve problems on complex, state of the art, technology projects.Interprets, implements and monitors modifications to department methods, processes and policies that affect multiple work groups.May provide advanced management direction to a complex technical subject matter area; typically manages programs of moderate to significant complexity.Lead engineering and cross-functional team members consisting of individual contributors and managers to create and execute product development schedules in compliance with corporate roadmaps, Business and Development (PDP) guidelines, and Program Manager/EC guidance on projects. Expedites development process as required to achieve approved program plans.Establishes technical design path and verifies design paths by planning and facilitating design reviews to gain Engineering and CTO Management approval.Responsible for creation of Engineering documentation and specifications from component to product level for assigned projects.Provides input and plans for program related expense to the Program Manager for Program budget development and forecasting. Owns budget management as assigned by the Program Manager.Validates product design performance and product design quality/reliability at system level with System Engineer, and validates product design performance and product design quality/reliability at module/sub-assembly/component level with Responsible Engineers.Drives development team to meet cost and reproducibility goals. Supports new product introduction to manufacturing by providing production process design requirements and test documentation, and problem solving.Contributes to the creation Customer Product Specifications and shares Product Specification customer approval with Marketing and Program Management. Supports customer technical communications and specification negotiations. Responsible for product documentation release.Establishes System Specifications with System Engineer, and establishes Modules/Sub-system requirements with Modules/Sub-system Responsible Engineers.Manages program allocated product development resources. Schedules resource utilization across all users. Plans and drives maintenance and upgrades as required to support the program plans and maximize system uptime. Coordinates Test Engineers and Technicians to execute prioritized program tasks and supports task execution as required.Creates presentations as required to support internal and external program reviews and works as required with Responsible Engineers to support design reviews.Assists in the research and selection of new suppliers with potential for turn-key provision of key subsystems.Other duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESIndirectly manages program allocated subordinate supervisors, engineers, and peers from functional departments.Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Engineering Core Team leads and Responsible Engineers assigned to projects as allocated by the RMAP and assigned by the Program Manager.Staff to be managed will vary with project assigned, scope of project, and development phase with 2-3 indirect reports during early/late phases to up to 5-40 indirect reports during peak development phases depending on the scope of the project.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities also include:interviewing, hiring, and training employeesplanning, assigning, and directing workappraising performancerewarding and disciplining employeesaddressing complaints and resolving problems in coordination with functional managers and Program Manager to gain appropriate staffing performance to achieve program goals

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCERequires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering field (EE, ME prefered) or related techincal degree.15-20 years total development experience with 5-10 year previous Engineering experience as individual contributor followed by 5-10 years management experience leading complex technical projects/activities.Product development experience utilizing phase gate or similar product development process guidelinesExperience using common computer Software tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc), Configuration Control tools such as Agile.
