Sr. Technical Marketing Engineer

Job Description and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the role are to provide technical expertise for product line, product definition, and product promotion.
-Work with Marketing and Engineering team to provide technical insight of new product definition
-Write and produce technical documents (datasheets, white papers) as required to support new product launches and design wins for security microcontrollers and Smartcard modules.
-Create technical presentations for product launches and sales/FAE training.
-Specify software tools to enhance the features and usability of SST's smartcard module products
-Coordinate teams developing product documentation, simulation software, emulator behavior, and product sample cards for products.
-Working alongside FAE's and technical support staff, promote product features and capabilities to customers to build value perception for SST's product advantages
-Monitor industry news and track competitor data (products, prices, availability)
-Attend industry events (may required international travel) and represent SST
-Provide timely and high-quality response to customer issues, working with sales, customer support, and product engineering to bring all customer issues to a satisfactory resolution as quickly as possible.
The role will be based out of our Sunnyvale office.  Occasional international and domestic customer visits will be required.

-Experience with Technical marketing and background in microelectronics or electrical engineering
-Ability to translate complex technical information into simple, clear messages
-Analytical mind to solve problems and promote SST's products over competitor's
-Energetic and Positive attitude. Desire and initiative to overcome difficulties or obstacles.

Education Required:
BS/MS Electrical or Computer Engineering, MBA is a plus.

Experience Required:
At least 5 yr experience in Technical Marketing position with microprocessors (ARM 7 or higher, 8051) and/or system-on-chip required.
-Familiarity with software and development tools (uCLinux, Keil Simulator, ARM development tools) required
-Experience in security applications preferred
-Experience of writing professional datasheet, whitepaper, and technical collateral required
-Knowledge of smart cards, mobile phones, and RF communications preferred but not required
Able to travel worldwide as necessary.  Travel up to 10% of the time may be required.
