Prepare and ensure all monthly journal entries/treasury transactions/payroll transactions of a complex nature are recorded within prescribed closing deadlinesPrepares consolidated financial statements and associated eliminating entries Assist and/or develop financial results that will be used in presentations for senior financial managementMay assist in development of new mainframe reporting and automated interfacesMay act as liaison between business units and various subsidiaries in order to properly reconcile intercompany accountsMay reconcile all bank accounts and perform any necessary correcting or adjusting of journal entries needed to properly reflect cash balanceMay maintain system files and ass.et classes, as well as recording monthly depreciation, reconciling fixed asset sub ledger to general ledger and review propriety of invoices being capitalizedMay include routine treasury transactions to investment decisions/debt management, including a broad range of financial activities such as internal audit coordination or interface, and analysis of variances from plan/forecast or normal trends of revenue, inventory levels, cash balances and interest income and expense. May review and confirm payroll recommendations on an as needed basis to ensure the accurateness of each cycle. Coordinates payroll matters with other departments, locations, divisions and separate entities.Work may include routine payroll transactions to new system implementation, including a broad range of payroll activities such as internal audit coordination or interface, and analysis of variances from normal trends of payroll expense.May be responsible for the design and development of department policies and procedures as well as providing input into corporate design of policies and procedures.May maintain accurate inventory, sales and cost of sales records for financial reportingParticipate in month?s close and reconciliation activity for specific entity/division/ organizationParticipate/assist in financial reporting to parent company (i.e. financial statements, asset management, units, statistical amounts, ratios, etc. Participate in external audit function (i.e. prepare lead schedules and supporting schedules for independent auditors Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and proceduresPerform monthly business unit/channel profit and loss analysis; Perform monthly product line and channel profit and loss analyses; prepare reconciliations to plan vs. actual, make recommendations for improvementMay perform analysis to determine present and future financial performance on projects of diverse scope and complexity requiring an in-depth evaluation of variable factorsMay design and maintain budget spreadsheets by type of organization and prepare necessary documentation i.e., instruction package and manual to support budget processMay prepare & reconcile budget consolidation including subsidiaries; make recommendations for improvement?s.Maintain & improve computerized budgeting /financial systems; synchronize changes with main ledger by interfacing with accounting, and information technology groupWorks with limited supervisionIndependently determines and develops approach to solutions.Primary job functions require exercising of independent judgmentWork is reviewed periodically during assignments and at major milestones for policy compliance and alignment with project requirements.May serve as a team leader within work group, or direct the work of others on assigned projects Frequently provide training and guidance to less experienced team membersSolid command and wide application of principles, theories, concepts in accounting.Solid command of company and organization policies, practices and procedures.Solid command of company business transactions and operationsSolid understanding and wide application of effective oral and written communication skillsSolid financial analysis skillsSolid understanding and wide application of effective organization skillsSolid understanding and wide application of effective teamwork skillsSolid command and wide application PC, associated software and spreadsheet skillsSolid command and wide application of inventory & purchasing accounting practicesSolid command and wide application of accounting, general ledger and associated computer systems and interfacesSolid command and wide application of legal statutes pertaining to accounting reporting, financial statementsSolid detail oriented skills 5 to 8 years directly related accounting, business planning, finance or payroll experience.
