Staff Software Engineer

APC-MGE is seeking candidates for the position of Staff Software Engineer
The Data Center Solutions, Services, & Software Line of Business is the software arm of our organization, and its Enterprise Software Division is responsible for our integrated suite of tools dedicated to the design, monitoring and management of the critical physical infrastructure in data center environments. The team located in West Kingston is responsible for the Enterprise Division’s monitoring and management products, InfraStruXure Manager and InfraStruXure Central. Both of these applications help data center operators identify and solve problems within their physical infrastructure, proactively reducing the risk of costly downtime.
We are looking for talented engineers with experience working on large scale, enterprise applications and a proven record of engineering excellence and thought leadership.
Responsibilities: * Working closely with the product owners to capture business requirements and user stories * Defining high level and detailed systems architecture and design * Driving technical direction through thought leadership * Writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining code * Recommending products, tools and process improvements
Qualifications: * BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent * 10+ years of software development experience in Java/C++/C# * 5+ years of experience in either a technical leadership or architect role * Demonstrated fluency in OOA/OOD and Design Patterns * Experience in both Windows and Linux development environments * Experience with networking concepts and web technologies (HTTP, XML, SOA, Web Services, etc.)
Desirable Skills: * Experience with network management applications and technologies (HP Open View, SNMP, etc.) * Experience with enterprise component frameworks (Spring, OSGi, CORBA, etc.) * Experience with database development and design (PostgreSQL) * Agile / Iterative development experience * Experience with the Eclipse IDE * C development experience
