Staff Test Engineer, Positioning Technology

Job Description
Responsibilities for the Staff Test Engineer position include the following:
Evaluate performance of various wireless position technologies, with an emphasis towards application in consumer and portable products
Design test cases, tooling, and equipment as necessary to characterize functionality and performance of various wireless positioning technologies
Perform detailed data analysis of position location performance test results.
Create data analysis test tools using Perl, Matlab, and/or C/C++
Author or contribute to the generation of test plans, test reports, bug reports, white papers, and technical reports on existing and new technology features
Frequent oral and written presentations

Skills/Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience with wireless positioning technologies
In depth and current knowledge of one or more wireless positioning technology - ie. AGPS, OTDOA, Wifi, DTV, DR/IMU integration
Self-motivated and results-driven work ethic
Strong team work skills in dynamic, tightly-integrated environment
Disciplined, logical approach to technical problem solving, utilizing good engineering practices to evaluate test data, isolate problems, draw conclusions
Experience defining and developing data analysis processes and tooling required
Experience with one or more of the following tools development environments is desired: excellent knowledge of PERL, C/C++, working knowledge of Matlab or other numerical analysis packages
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required

Additional Skills
Previous engineering experience in the wireless telecommunications industry (GSM/GPRS, CDMA, or WCDMA), with product validation, integration and testing is a plus

Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
