Job Description:
You will be involved in selecting, managing and developing our key raw material component suppliers, as well as driving strategic operational improvements and efficiency gains in our logistics and material supply chains. In addition, this position includes extensive involvement with our Strategic Business Unit Leaders to successfully launch new innovative products. Your success will be measured via the value added supplier relationships you develop enabling Company to lower costs, improve quality, minimize inventory and improve fill rate. You will be exposed to many business disciplines including Finance, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering. This position is an excellent career opportunity for someone interested in pursuing Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering or Sales Management. Occasional opportunities exist for both domestic and international travel. Develop reliable sources of raw material, supplies, parts, equipment, and services. Obtain price and delivery quotations as necessary Negotiate the purchase of raw materials, product components, capital equipment, and expense items as required. Review and process material discrepancy reports and obtain corrective action on purchased items as notified by Material Review Board. Plan and maintain inventory control levels for purchased items using kanban calculator and/or MRP. Gather information on new materials, products, equipment, finishes and supplier sources to keep abreast of new developments.
Qualifications:
In order to qualify for this position you must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 3 to 6 years of operations planning/purchasing experience. Desire experience with MRP/ERP systems, Kanban, procurement of custom and/or electronics components, lean manufacturing. Need excellent computer skills including data analysis, communication/negotiation skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities. APICS or CPM certification preferred. International purchasing experience preferred.
