Job Overview
Reports to the Director of Strategic Market Development, and has responsibility for defining and developing emerging business and market opportunities for National Semiconductor.  These opportunities will encompass activity with other Tier 1 semiconductor suppliers and strategic customer relationships.

Success in the role will entail close collaboration and understanding of the strategies of the various product groups within National, our research lab, and a working relationship with our Business Development group.  Combining these relationships with a depth of awareness in current market dynamics and emerging megatrends, this individual will provide leadership in setting a proactive direction for National in developing new markets and strategic opportunities.

The individual will have to possess a very fast learning curve on both technical and strategy matters.  They will also have to possess excellent relationship building skills, both for themselves with key decision-makers and senior executives both internal and external, as well as bringing these constituents together for mutual benefit.  Goals will be centered on driving new product definition, reference designs, joint-marketing, joint sales calls to common accounts, strategy alignment at the roadmap and customer level, and design wins and sales related to the above activities.

Requirements
Qualified personnel will possess a technical degree (BSEE preferred) with 10+ years of experience in a combination of the following: major account management; demonstrated ability to develop and drive market-led strategy in complex multi-dimensional situations; and product or segment marketing and applications.
