As today's retailers strive for differentiation in a crowded marketplace, consumers are upgrading, downsizing, and cross-shopping. Clamoring for attention, retailers are embracing innovative strategies that stand apart in a consumer-demanding, fiercely competitive environment. The realization is retailers must adapt to changing demographics, attitudes, preferences, and behavior to be successful in the long term. As a Senior Manager in our Retail Sector, you will participate and lead enterprise cost reduction projects that improve business performance through immediate and sustainable cost structure reductions. Our teams improve cash flow via a customized approach that may include staff reductions, strategic sourcing of key commodities, inventory reductions, and other "quick win" improvements. Long-term sustainable savings come from organizational restructuring, supply chain improvements, implementation of shared services, and process/technology integration. Senior Managers manage and deliver large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business solutions and technology solutions for large retail clients. Senior Managers are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including: - Engagement Management: managing engagement risk, project economics including planning and budgeting, managing accounts receivable, defines deliverable content, ensures buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client - Business Development: develops and maintains contact with top decision makers at key clients, organizes and leads pursuit teams, participating and leading aspects of the proposal development process, contributes to proposal pricing strategy. - Practice Development & Eminence: development of solutions and methodologies, development of "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents, public speaking and publication in industry periodicals. - People Development: performs role of counselor and coach, provides input and guidance into the firms staffing process, and actively participates in staff recruitment and retention activities. Interested candidates will possess a degree in business or related and have 10 or more years of retail industry consulting experience, including at least 3 years of project management experience. Advanced degrees, MBA or related, out of strong academic institutions are strongly preferred. Candidates will have direct experience in overseeing projects related to retail operations performance improvement, marketing, merchandising, pricing, inventory management, cost reduction, supply chain enhancements, sourcing and organizational restructuring. Ideal candidates will have business development experience selling consulting services in the retail industry.
