Supply Chain Manager

An expanding electronic contract manufacturer in Mount Holly, North Carolina is seeking an individual for the Material - Purchasing Manager position:

 

This position reports to the VP of Operations and is responsible for effectively managing all material and suppliers by 1) identifying opportunities to reduce product and transaction cost 2) establishing replenishment and consignment programs 3) performing tactical buying responsibilities and 4) communicating and resolving supplier quality issues. The position is further responsible for confirming sales orders, master scheduling and evaluating all production and inventory issues to the management staff. The position has a staff of purchasing, planning and cost accounting.

 

Goals will include maintaining minimum inventory levels, reducing part lead times and cost, achieving aggressive inventory turns while maintaining world class production On Time Delivery and Lead Time metrics.

 

Job Requirements

 

·  Negotiate cost effective deals with suppliers to reduce cost and lead times, and establish replenishment and consignment programs. Meet production On Time Delivery and Lead Time metrics.

·  Identify opportunities to reduce product ands transaction costs. Achieve PPV goals set in the business plan.

·  Establish and maintain KanBan replenishment program.

·  Maintain and monitor adequate inventory levels on non KanBan materials.

·  Management of staff to accomplish goals and objectives established by upper management.

·  Enhance supplier relationships through timely and effective communication.

·  Participate in Process Improvement Teams.

·  Responsible for communicating and closing supplier quality issues.

·  Active member of the MRB team, making decisions for material disposition and responsible for RTV transactions.

·  Effective material planning to ensure lead times and schedules are attained. Resolve material shortages and implement corrective action to avoid future disruptions.

·  Manage the product quote development process through the utilization of a Quote Analyst.

 

 

Education and/or Experience/Skills

 

·  Minimum of 7 years experience in procurement, production planning and other areas related to negotiation, pricing, cost management, material planning, etc.

·  Previous supervisory or management experience required.

·  Bachelor’s degree and CPM/APICS certification is desired.

·  MRP/MRP II

·  AS/ 400

·  Strong decision-making ability and creative problem solving skills

·  Knowledge of industry supply chain best practices and innovations related to delivery, performance, cost management, material handling and lead-time reduction.

·  Preferred experience in an electronic industry.

·  Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

·  Customer oriented focus with a creative, aggressive and winning attitude.
