Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct UPS system tests to support orders for equipment. This includes the production level work of hooking things up to the test line and running oscilloscopes and test meters for verification and calibration.

Determine and modify Test Plans for UPS equipment that insures manufacturing quality and meets engineering specifications.

Maintain and upgrade our 7.8 Megawatt test line that simulates power outages and supports witness tests of our UPS equipment

Run Customer Witness testing of Operating UPS equipment. Interact with Customers on test process and system functionality.

Control Energy costs on Test line.

Hi-level troubleshooting support of production test technicians.

Interface with design engineers to bring new products into manufacturing and establishing manufacturing test procedures.

Detailed analysis of circuit board and system failures in both manufacturing and the field to find root cause and drive engineering and manufacturing improvements.

Work with Suppliers of electronics and electrical on quality improvements.

Interact with test technicians and production employees to help them reach production goals.

Qualifications:

BS Electrical Engineering
0-3 years exp.
Understanding of Power Applications
Comfortable in testing 3 Phase 480V equipment

Use of Oscilloscopes
Use of Multi meters
Strong understanding of Circuit Board functionality
Understanding of control software and power equipment
Willingness to be in a production environment
Understanding of communication networks used by power equipment
(SNMP, ETHERNET, MODBUS, RS232, RS485)

Must be comfortable demonstrating equipment functionality in front of customers.
Experience with motors both mechanical and electrical.
Focus on Power/Motors/Generators/Electronics

Preferred skills:

Hands on experience in building test fixtures
Previous experience with production assembly
Mechanical aptitude
Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Controllers a plus
PLC Programming (RSlogix)
Previous experience with Switchgear.
Experience with Power Electronics, IGBT’s, Thyristors.
