Test Lead (3460)

Location Carlsbad CAJob Responsibilities The successful candidate will support the development of test plans and procedures during the engineering development phase of various projects. The Test Lead will be responsible for transitioning projects from the development stage into the test phase. The candidate will manage the test lab and resources required to test both hardware and software systems. The successful candidate will help in the development of test stations, maintain the test laboratory including all test equipment, test set-ups and manage test personnel working in the test lab. As Test Lead the candidate will be responsible for scheduling all test lab activities in support of both new product development and legacy products. Testing will include both ViaSat and customer provided communications equipment, SATCOM terminals and controllers. The Test Lead will also be required to interface with engineering management and customers by providing status reports on a regular basis.Experience/Skills Required The qualified candidate must have five+ years of experience working with communications systems and equipment, including hands-on operation and set-up. Knowledge of SATCOM systems, terminals, modems, ancillary equipment and Military standards is desired. The candidate must have good written and communications skills. The Test lead must have good organizational skills and planning skills. Experience as a leader or manager of a technical test team of engineers and technicians is desired.  US citizenship is required.Education Requirements BA/BS or equivalent experienceTravel Required Up to 10 percentUS Citizenship Required?
