Thermal Design Engineer - LED Applications Specialist

Now, Luminus is expanding its product offerings into wider markets.

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Products, The Thermal Design Engineer – LED Applications Specialist is responsible for supporting customers with their thermal designs. Thermal management is considered one of the key challenges in the ongoing solid state lighting revolution. Therefore, this position is very important in helping our customers to develop cutting edge lighting solutions.

 

An excellent knowledge of all aspects of LED applications design is key for success in this position. Motivated candidates who do not yet have this knowledge will have an opportunity to learn all aspects of this exciting field.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Principle Activities

§ Analyze customer requirements for LED applications, with focus on thermal aspects

§ In a team with specialists in other areas, develop recommendations for customers

§ Be up-to-date with innovative thermal management solutions, and evaluate them if required

§ Develop and maintain standard thermal models for PhlatLight LEDs and thermal dissipation systems

§ Make recommendations to Product Management about features which could improve performance or usability of products

Minimum Qualification Required: (when qualifications include education or equivalent, define equivalent)

Requirements

§ 3+ years thermal engineering experience

§ Deep knowledge of at least one standard thermal simulation package, knowledge or more packages highly desirable

§ Good understanding of high power semiconductor technology and applications

§ Motivated team player

§ Excellent written and oral communication skills

§ Willingness to travel (
