Summary of Duties:
You will be responsible for managing Aliph’s outsourced freight management, distribution, logistics and repair program in N. America. Responsibilities include managing inbound/outbound freight, pack out, fulfillment and distribution of finished product through channel partners and directly to end-users. You will also be responsible managing reverse logistics operations including RMA processing, product test, repair/refurbishment and fulfillment back to customers in N. America. This position reports to the Director of WW Distribution, Logistics and Repair.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage Aliph’s outsourced Distribution and Repair programs for all Aliph products in N. America with goals of with a focus on customer satisfaction, customer responsiveness and cost efficiency.
· Achieving and maintaining industry-leading service qualify performance
· Achieving ongoing cost reductions
· Providing focal point to outsourced partners to resolve all issues
· Develop world class integrated processes between key Aliph functional groups and outsourced partners which result in best-in-class service at industry competitive costs.
Key Distribution program management duties include:
· Manage pack-out and distribution capabilities which maximize flexibility and cost effectiveness
· Timely and accurate fulfillment and tracking of ecommerce and retail channel orders
· Cost effective sourcing of materials for retail pack out of Aliph’s products determined to be cost effect to be packed out locally
· Optimize inventory levels to maximize customer satisfactory and minimize storage costs and exposure to excess inventory
· Continuous focus on reducing the “total cost” of the distribution chain from point of manufacture to end-user.
· Ensure timely receipt, count, put away, and resolution of receiving discrepancies for inbound products and material at the logistics center so as to ensure timely availability of needed products and components
· Ensure security and accountability of warehoused and in-transit materials and goods by partner compliance with material handling procedures, cycle count processes, annual physical inventories, and timely investigation and resolution of discrepancies
· Establish a performance measurement process for outsourced partners, maintain, analyze and report on trended results, anticipate bottlenecks and make appropriate changes before they become customer facing issues and take timely corrective action with partners for out of compliance results
· Maintain service levels for leveraged partner IT systems to ensure uninterrupted flow of data to the distribution center for customer orders, real-time visibility of the entire supply chain from the contract manufacturing partner shipments through the distribution center to customer and process transactional data to either electronically to Aliph’s ERPs system or the equivalent data in the form of a standard electronic file
· Leverage partner IT systems to provide real-time visibility of the entire supply chain (i.e. from contract manufacturer shipments, through distribution center pack-out, warehousing and fulfillment activities, to end customers & retail channel, and to reverse logistics) and to provide daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on key partner metrics
· Anticipate and proactively propose/implement changes to the distribution infrastructure to support scalability of Aliph’s high growth business and support the dynamic and changing nature of Alphi’s product roadmap
· Reverse logistics & repair program management responsibilities include:
· Ensure timely receipt, RMA reconciliation, and surfacing of receiving discrepancies vs RMA with either Customer Service (for end user returns) or Sales Operations (for retail returns) for Aliph products returned to the reverse logistics center
· Timely and accurate fulfillment and tracking of advance exchange orders and Customer Service orders to end customers
Manage a timely and cost effective process to:
· De-kit returned products
· Functional test to identify NTF’s from failed units
· Clean, buff, kit and store NTF’s as shippable B-stock
· Failed unit testing including: disassemble, test to determine root cause of failures, and report on failures types by frequency
· Obtain warranty credits from manufacturer
· Lead a closed loop process to feedback root cause failure data/information to appropriate Aliph functional groups and gain commitments for corrective actions
· Establish a performance measurement process for reverse logistics/repair partner, maintain, analyze and report on trended results, anticipate bottlenecks and make appropriate changes before they become customer facing issues and take timely corrective action with partners for out of compliance results
· Maintain effective inventory management throughout process
· Manage total cost of the “reverse logistics” chain from the initial customer request through replacement of the defective unit to industry leading level
Skills and Abilities Needed: Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience required (MBA desirable).10+ years combined work experience in Distribution, logistics and repair. Strong leadership skills with ability to influence Aliph’s distribution & repair strategy and drive implementation Detailed knowledge of systems infrastructure requirements for distribution and repair Excellent cross-functional teamwork and project management skills. Excellent communications skills with ability to influence all levels of management. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Ability to multi task, prioritize and handle rapid change Must be able to lead or participate in a cooperative effort among members of a project team Excellent oral and written communications skills. You will need to use practical experience to envision new and better ways to reduce costs and improve velocity throughout the supply chain and improve services to end customers
