VB 6 Programmer/Analyst

The Programmer Analyst will work as part of the IT Business Systems team focusing on the development, maintenance, and support of applications utilized in the manufacturing process within Company and its contract equipment manufacturers.  This position is in Uniontown, PA.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 Must be able to create, maintain, debug, test, and deploy VB6 applications in a production environment.  Utilize Visual Source Safe for revision control; ADO and other database connections to SQL server.SQL Server – Client and Server database administration on SQL8 and 2005.  Relational database experience a must.Proficient in Microsoft operating systems, files, PCs, networks, IP addresses, shares, security, users. Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, and Access.  Ability to create reports, manage data, analyze data, and interface current VB applications with XLS and Access. Interface with customers to develop data files in various file formats (txt, xls, other). Interface with customer to develop nameplates using Codesoft. Interface VB software with Codesoft to control label creation. Travel is required to setup new production facilities. Remote support required to keep production running at CEM locations. Ability to work with 3rd party software vendors to collected production data. Serial number bar-coding experience a plus.

Qualifications:

 

Successful candidates preferable will have a BS in Computer Science; however 3-5 years equivalent experience is OK.

 

Experience with application development in a manufacturing environment. 

 

MUST HAVE VB6 and interfacing to the database

MUST HAVE SQL Server

PREFER Codesoft and Visual Source Safe; however similar application is acceptable

MUST HAVE excellent communication skills using e-mail, voice mail, text messaging, IM, code commenting, specification documents and user manual development.
