VP of Business Finance

Position Description:

Spansion LLC is the largest pure-play Flash memory provider as well as a “$2.5B start-up” created from AMD and Fujitsu Flash memory operations. Flash memory is the fastest growing mainstream semiconductor segment forecast to exceed $25B in 2008, and is a key enabling technology for a more mobile, digital content rich world. Our Flash memory products and solutions are focused on expanding our leadership position with tier one manufacturers of mobile phones and other consumer and industrial applications such as automotive, networking, telecommunications, PC’s and peripherals. Currently we address an $8B+ segment of the Flash memory market and are developing innovative technologies and products to further expand our reach into new and established applications. These opportunities leverage our industry leading proprietary MirrorBit technology and increasingly our “memory sub-system solution” approach to product development. A key player in making this happen will be our Vice President of Business Finance. To accomplish this we are looking for a candidate who has experience working in an entrepreneurial type of environment, such as ours, and knows well what it takes to succeed in this type of environment. Primary Purpose: Will partner with each of the Business Unit's General Manager plus the R&D organization to ensure the continued growth and financial success of the enterprise. Specific Job Functions:Drive profitability of the business by partnering with the GM. Detailed unit cost and profit margin analysis focusing on improving operational effeciency. Identify opportunities to re-balance/optimize portfolio mix to drive revenue up. Analyze new product development plans to insure maximum return on R&D resources. Conduct competitive analysis by monitoring the competitive environment and reporting on developments with potential for significantly impacting the business' future prospects. Work on special analysis projects as identified by the BU/Company. •To provide the executive management team decision making support in complex analysis; bridge between the finance organization and the operations group in each of the Business Unit’s.•This position drives the business process model within the Business Unit’s operations; performing business analytics, providing strategic thinking in identifying each operations unit risks/opportunities and helping the executive management team understand their overall financial results and underlying profitability of their businesses.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of ten to fifteen years proven and progressive financial analysis and accounting experience in a corporate environment. Executive level experience working within the Semiconductor Integrated Device Manufacturing Sector highly desired. • Technical or operations management experience is a must with international experience highly desired. • Minimum of a bachelor degree in finance, management accounting, or business, related field. • MBA desired, CPA a plus. • Strong managerial, problem-solving experience, analytical, project management, and communication skills a must. • Strong working knowledge of organizational structure, business and financial systems/processes including the general ledger, cost allocation process and all aspects of management reporting. • Knowledge of and ability to interpret complex accounting/regulatory issues for both domestic and international transactions.
