QSI CORPORATION POSITION PROFILE

 

Position: Web Developer

Reports To: Director of Marketing

 

GENERAL

This position is a full-time, non-exempt position in the Marketing department that will collaborate with the marketing and design teams on a variety of web tasks including: web application development, website maintenance, and programming as well as company website updates and testing. This position is a key part of the marketing team and will work with graphic designers, product managers and employees from other departments. Members of the Marketing department wear “wear many hats” in an effort to market products and services for three different divisions.

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The duties and responsibilities for this Salt Lake City-based professional include the following items:

*  Develop server-side and client-side web applications for internet and marketing intranet sites

*  Monitor and maintain corporate website, forums and blog

*  Configure and maintain web analytics tools with appropriate reporting and training

*  Research and educate the marketing team of web development trends

*  Proficient with best practices of website design and server configuration for search engine optimization

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

*  At least five years of experience in back-end web application and database development

*  Intermediate programming skills: XHTML, CSS, PHP, SQL and Javascript

*  Able to validate work to WC3 coding and accessibility standards

*  Cross browser testing

*  The ability to handle multiple projects at once

*  Proven track record of handling website development projects

*  Creative and detail-oriented team player

 

Preferred:

*  Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, XML & server configuration (Apache on RedHat ES)

*  Excellent grammar and writing skills

*  Bachelors degree in computer related discipline is preferred

*  Familiarity with web analytics tools (Omniture, Google Analytics)

*  Adobe Photoshop skills a plus
