Summary:
Performs drafting assignments, record keeping related to those assignments and general office functions.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform drafting assignments in support of operations for such items as construction projects, permit applications, etc.
Perform basic GIS computerized updating of operating maps for the company's facilities and maintain the records associated with these facilities.
Communicate across company departments to create, update, and maintain data, such as taxing jurisdictions, land-base information, piping system attributes, etc.
Assist internal and external customers with basic facilities information inquiries.
Create special graphic presentation maps.
Research company archive files for project data.
File records and reports.
Support operations' projects, processes and activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Performs advanced level drafting work, prepares plans, detail drawings and finished designs for engineering and other purposes.
Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures, and take all required training courses.
Must demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company's values and business practices.
Education:
Technical or Associate Degree in Drafting
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with either GIS or drafting/mechanical/electrical drawing including maps, plans, designs, diagrams and specifications of high pressure pipeline systems, compressor stations and meter stations.. Preferably AutoCad through Release 2002.
Knowledge of ESRI ArcMap products desirable.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Certifications, and Licenses:
Knowledge of mechanical drawing or drafting principles and techniques.
Able to perform drafting techniques.
Able to construct spreadsheets and utilize basic formulas and functions.
Able to create letters, memos, and specifications with word processing software.
Able to be detailed-oriented.
Able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
Able to work under limited supervision and complete all assigned tasks.
Able to interact with co-workers and be willing to contribute to overall success of the company.
Able to understand and comply with company and industry safety standards and regulations.
Able to be flexible and adaptable in response to changing requirements and systems.
Able to use advanced functions of personal computers, digitizers, plotters, and other drafting and/or office equipment.
Able to understand the work and services provided by district operations.
Able to coordinate a variety of activities, providing special attention to details and deadlines.
Able to coach less experienced employees.
Knowledge of land-base and survey boundary information is desirable.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Able to bend and stoop for filing.
Able to view computer terminal for extended periods of time.
Manual dexterity to operate personal computer for long periods of time.
Most work will be performed in an office environment.
Occasional travel to field locations to obtain data may include overnight stay.
Overtime may be required to meet established assignment timelines.
Occasional exposure to all weather conditions; hot, dirty and/or greasy equipment and noise, when at installations in field.
This is a safety sensitive position. Random drug testing is required.
