Chevron Oronite Company is accepting online applications for the position of Automative Engine Oils (AEO) Program Executor located in Richmond, California through May 21, 2008.Overview:The AEO (Automotive Engine Oil) Product Qualification Team executes customer approval programs to support Oronite's automotive additive business. These programs consist of running engine and bench performance tests, the goal of which is to certify that Oronite's products meet the performance applications for which they are marketed. That certification comes in the form of an industry license (American Petroleum Institute or API for example) or original equipment manufacturer approval (OEM). Licensing also insures that these programs have been run in compliance with strict industry guidelines such as the American Chemistry Council Code of Practice, and the American Petroleum Institute's Engine Oil Licensing Certification System. This team is responsible for planning and executing the approval program, insuring Oronite's compliance with industry practices, and assisting Oronite's customers in obtaining all licenses and approvals. The industry requires an annual audit which this team must pass, to insure compliance. To accomplish its goals, this team works closely with Oronite's Product Management, Product Development, and Customer Technical Service groups.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Provides program execution support to PQD (Product Qualification) program managers:• Schedule the blending, shipping, and testing of oils• Track base stock and special additive inventories• Evaluates results against pass/fail criteria, erroneous results must be spotted and tracked down• Create technical service requests and provide guidance to service groups for blending, compat studies and other testing• Coordinate testing activities with the Oronite Customer Technical Services group• Consults with program manager and Oronite marketing team in Houston on next steps to complete program• May work on multiple programs with different managers, must be adaptable to frequent changes in priorities or business direction, and in resolving priority conflictsProgram Documentation:• Documents formulations and results using MS Excel and Lotus Notes databases • Schedules testing with CELTIS (Chevron Engine Lubricants Test Information System)• Insure that programs being executed are in compliance with ACC Code of Practice• Upon program completion, assists in assembling an ACC format Candidate Data Package• Prepares data for presentation to customer, proofs for demonstrating compliance with ACC and API requirements, participates in annual auditRequired (Basic) Qualifications:• High School Diploma or GED requiredPreferred Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Science preferredRelocation will not be consideredInternational Considerations:Expatriate assignments will not be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-CA-Richmond Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Biotech/R&D/Science
