Rio Tinto Shared Services (RTSS) is part of the Global Business Services group, providing a range of specialized services including Payroll, Employee Services Finance & Compliance, Facilities Management and Information Systems & Technology (IS&T). The Financial areas have responsibility for Accounts Payable & Treasury transactions, Compliance & Assurance (internal & external auditing, insurance, company secretary, credit management and SOX support) and Financial Accounting (capital accounting and support, month-end corporate accounting and general accounting support).

The RTSS Accountant will provide accounting support for internal departments and client business units. Responsibilities:Perform daily banking and cash accounting transactionsProcess inter-company billing and statement confirmationsResearch and provide documentation supporting billing and resolve billing issuesMonitor inter-company balance balances and escalate aged itemsProcess improvements projectsPerform general ledger reconciliations and resolve outstanding itemsPrepare Journal Entries

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in accounting required0-2 years professional experience in accountingCompetent with Microsoft Office programsQuick learner on software applicationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to be flexible in a dynamic environmentCommitted to the principles of effective teamwork and achievement of team objectivesWilling to assist team members and enhance team output through cooperation and collaborationTakes ownership of work and holds one-self and team members accountableCommitted to a vision of superior customer service, striving to exceed customer expectation
