Accounts Receivable/Collections Representative

We are currently seeking an Accounts Receivable/Collections Representative to be located in our regional office in Albany, NY.  This individual will posses outstanding people skills with the ability to coordinate AR/Collection activity for both residential and commercial accounts for various locations throughout New York.  Responsibilities include: Overall responsibility for maintaining customer accounts. Analyze accounts receivable information to determine priority.  Monitor and collect on past due accounts. Support monthly/quarterly customer review meetings. Make improvement recommendations to management. Key Tasks: Produce regular aging reports. Analyze receivables information from aging report. Organize work list to prioritize by outstanding dollars, risk levels, pay history and overall customer value. Initiate all collection activities (calls, letters & emails) to customers & follow up on all items. Resolve all dispute cases to a mutual satisfactory end between customer and company. Make recommendations for customer work out with credit manager. Assist Customer Service Managers to resolve order holds. Experience: HS diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree a plus. 2+ years collections experience. Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Laws. Strong communication (verbal/written) and negotiation skills. Competency with Microsoft Office products. Proven record of productivity and continuous improvement.
