Analysts / Consultants – Coal Markets

 

PIRA Energy Group, an internationally renowned consultant offering retainer client services and customized research (www.pira.com), is looking to beef up its staff of coal market analysts with multiple positions open.

 

Specifically, we are looking for individuals with experience in analyzing and reporting on coal market fundamentals, with a particular focus on U.S. coal markets; international coal markets experience is a plus.  Ideal candidates will have superb quantitative/computer skills and excellent communication skills (writing, PowerPoint, live presentations).

 

Responsibilities may include:

·  Research and gather data

·  Assess trends using statistical analysis

·  Maintain expansive and complex databases

·  Build and execute models and formulas to update forecasts

·  Generate reports and deliver client presentations

·  Handle client queries

 

 REQUIREMENTS

· College graduate, preferably in a technical field (sciences, engineering), finance or economics

· 1-plus years of business experience, ideally in coal/energy (but not required)

· Computer savvy: Word, Excel and PowerPoint a must; Access desirable

· Strong ability to work with large amounts of numerical data, formulas, and mathematical models

· Self-motivated to perform in a fast-moving, extremely detail- and task-oriented environment
