BioEnergy Program Manager

Our Energy Systems group, based in Columbus, OH, provides a broad range of technology solutions to support the entire energy conversion supply chain - from production and transportation to conversion to help our clients establish a competitive advantage. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the development and growth of its bioenergy program. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in the technologies and the business development of bioenergy, specifically biofuels, bioprocessing, and biorefining. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. A full benefits package including health, dental, vision and life insurance, 401k, pension plan, and tuition reimbursement will be provided. Relocation support is available. Position Responsibilities The successful candidate should have knowledge of and experience in the following areas related to bioenergy: Biomass pretreatment Fermentation Thermal processing, including gasification and pyrolysis Syngas cleanup and upgrading Carbon dioxide capture Distillation / separations Process economics Feedstock assessment and economic analysis Optimization of the biomass refining process for various bioproducts The successful candidate will develop business opportunities, including intellectual property development, licensing, and fee-for-service contract research, resulting in more than $10 million within 5 years. The candidate will be responsible for building a project team that will develop, design, model/simulate, optimize, and scale-up novel process technologies. Working closely with this team, the candidate will have the additional responsibilities of formulating research plans, managing research programs, and interacting with external partners and clients. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with course work in energy systems, especially related to bioenergy - Minimum of 10 years experience in the bioenergy, biomass, or biorefining areas - Minimum of 5 years of bioenergy business development - Strong oral and written communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills - Willingness to travel (10% to 25%), including internationally (Latin America, the Pacific Rim, and Europe
