Position Profile:

As an Analyst, the successful candidate will work as part of a team and may be directly

involved in any of the following:

 

• Designing and implementing business processes and systems to improve Energy Savings’

  operations;

• Facilitating Energy Savings’ entry into new markets;

• Evaluating new projects and opportunities available to Energy Savings;

• Addressing daily operating issues as they pertain to Energy Savings’ business.

 

Analysts work as part of a service group within the Operations Department. They act as

a resource base for all functional areas of the company. This allows analysts to gain

exposure to many areas of Energy Savings’ business. The responsibilities of the

successful candidate may include:

 

• Analyzing business challenges and designing practical, attainable solutions.

• Coordinating the rapid implementation of business and system process changes.

• Creating tools (possibly in MS Excel or MS Access) to help manage the day-today

  responsibilities or create  reports for various functional areas.

• Creating or modifying business requirement specification documents to guide the software

  development process.

• Creating, modifying, and executing test plans in order to ensure that tools or

software packages function correctly before they are released for use.

 

• Preparing and running training exercises with business users.

Candidate Profile:

 

The successful candidate MUST meet the following requirements:

 

• Assertive, self motivated, and goal oriented.

• Proven problem solver that is comfortable with assumptions and abstract analysis.

• Able to take full ownership of assignments and work with minimal supervision.

• Able to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely in English (written and oral).

• Able to contribute to team success under tight deadlines.

• Resourceful with the desire to initiate change.

 

The following qualifications are not mandatory, but will be considered assets:

 

• Previous experience as a business analyst.

• Previous experience working independently or as part of a team in an

  unstructured problem solving role.

• Previous experience working with business/customer information systems.

• Relevant experience working with Excel, Access, relational databases, or SQL.

• Previous experience designing/implementing/testing software systems.

• Familiarity with standard software development lifecycle practices.

• Previous experience in a supervisory role with responsibility for direct reports.
