FERC ACCOUNTANT 

Job Description:Work closely with Oracle team to set up the mapping of existing chart of accounts to the FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) chart of accountsWork closely with the Fixed Asset group to ensure that assets are properly categorized in accordance with FERC requirementsMaintain the GAAP and FERC general ledgers and prepare monthly financial statementsProvide the business with accounting guidance in accordance with the FERC Uniform System of AccountsDevelop proper internal controls surrounding the pipeline accountingComplete quarterly and annual Form 6 reporting to the FERC in a timely and accurate manner.  Additionally, prepare any internal and external reports related to the pipeline accountingWork closely with pipeline operations personnel as the pipeline progresses to gain an understanding of changes in the projectIdentify accounting changes arising from new business operations

Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required 3+ years of accounting experience required Excellent accounting skills, PC skills, written and verbal communication skills and analytical abilities are a must Working knowledge of overall GAAP is a must Knowledge of FERC accounting and reporting requirements also preferred Knowledge of Oracle Financial Module, CPA and regulatory reporting experience a plus This position will involve detailed work with frequent deadlines and coordination with other people. This is a startup position so it will require coordination with other departments and development of processes and procedures
