Business Assistant (Land Department)

Newmont is the Gold Company of Choice, a leading gold producer with operations on five continents.  Newmont leads the industry through performance. 

 

This position will be responsible for the administrative needs of the entire Global Land Department and the ability to learn and become a resource for Land Records team. 

 

Principal duties will include:

 Under direction from the Land Records Supervisor, create, maintain and update the department’s property files and records; assist in the input, proofing and maintenance of property records in the department’s Land Management System; and prepare and distribute reports, property obligation reminders, notice letters and payments.Requires organizational and planning skills to multi-task and handle the needs of Land Department staff.Assist in travel arrangements, and process travel and expense reports.Process invoices, check requests, and code and enter data.Process incoming property payments, and code and enter data.Process departmental mail, records, publications, and order and maintain the department’s office supplies.Compose correspondence, edit documents, and take and transcribe minutes of meetings as necessary.Perform copying, collating, binding, packaging, etc., and disseminate routine and other documents as requested by department personnel including mail/messenger/meeting preparations.

REQUIREMENTS

 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate highly developed organizational skills, the ability to liaise effectively with customers and attention to detail.

 

§  Minimum 2 years administrative experience or equivalent training.

§  College level courses or secretarial/business school training is desirable.

§  Experience working with property records is desirable.

§  Intermediate computer skills; some database management experience is preferred.

§  Basic knowledge of office equipment.
