Business Development Representative

OCCUPATION: Business Development/New Accounts National Grid seeks a Business Development Representative for the Energy Solutions Services Department located in Hicksville, New York.  As a Business Development Representative you will be accountable for the development, expansion and management of sales and field-based programs to generate new natural gas sales opportunities enterprise wide.  This position is responsible for developing and directing a strategy for identifying opportunities to build relationships with residential, commercial and governmental clients.  Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:  Reviewing leads regularly with management and collaboratively brainstorming and initiating new ideas for lead generation.  Identifying external marketplace and customer trends, as well as field sales needs to develop strategies for leveraging growth opportunities  Building and maintaining relationships with sales channel clients. Actively represent the company in targeted local, regional and/or professional organizations that can enhance the Company’s profile.  Attend meetings outside of normal business hours when necessary and make public presentations as required to Chamber of Commerce groups, Planning Boards, Gas Inspectors, Home Inspectors, and other channels/organizations.  QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or energy-related field preferably with three years experience in energy related sales.   Experience in developing and maintaining strong internal and external business relationships.  Strong internal and external communication and collaboration skills   Entrepreneurial mindset. Experience in creating value for clients.  Demonstrated ability to understand and identify client needs, develop programs/solutions and deliver results.  Must have strong knowledge of the sales process and experience with developing solutions to meet client needs.  Must have a strong background in traditional and non-traditional end-use applications.  Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills.
