Chevron Global Downstream is accepting online applications for the position of Supply Optimization Group Business Process Analyst located in Houston, TX through May 9, 2008.Overview:The Business Process Analyst is a critical team member of Chevron’s Supply Optimization Group (SOG) and works to drive improvements in Downstream's Supply Chain processes. The Business Process Analyst (BPA) team works closely with SOG Regional teams located in Houston, San Ramon, London, Singapore and Cape Town; as well as with IT, Commercial, and Trading groups in Supply and Trading and with Refining and Marketing groups. Additionally, the BPA will work closely with Project Lynx to validate and deploy new supply chain processes. Each BPA has responsibility for key global metrics and partners with a specific region to provide analytical support for supply chain management and performance tracking. This BPA position is located in Houston and is assigned to the U.S. East region.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:? Develop and implement regional projects which support world class supply chain management across all Global Downstream operations. Focus process improvements on efficiency, reliability and profitability (tactical and strategic). Ensure coordination among refining, supply, trading and marketing organizations. Support regional needs of supply chain projects for mapping, design input, critical needs assessment and training/rollout of new solutions and processes.? Oversee coordination with Refining, Supply, Trading and Marketing in development and implementation of global best practice processes. Participates in Global Communities of Practice. Focus areas include preparing a standardized package of metrics to support the Distributive Area operating plans (S&OP 3-5 month forecast), crude selection, demand forecasting, inventory management, incident investigations and assessment of costs, terminal supply availability, primary distribution costs, and natural work team facilitation. Support supply chain projects on global basis contributing to project teams in areas of specialization or unique knowledge. The position will also provide explanations for trends and anomalies in data, and use data to drive recommendations to continuous improvement. ? Maintain systems and monthly data flow for tracking metrics such as inventory level, cost of incidents, and enterprise value capture. Promote high level of awareness in the milestones required to meet various scorecard objectives. Report monthly on progress to various databases.Required (Basic) Qualifications:Bachelor’s required in Engineering, Business, or Finance.? Has experience with the operation and analysis of downstream supply chain processes including refining, marketing, logistics, or trading.?
