As our Controls Engineer, you will have engineering responsibility for SES’ embedded real time operating systems. The software you develop will control the following subassemblies; the Stirling engine, an electrical generator, cooling system, high voltage electrical switching, power factor correction hardware and the hardware responsible for keeping the system focused on the sun. As our Controls Software Engineer, based in Albuquerque, NM you will immediately learn Stirling Dish systems and related dish control techniques by working closely with the electrical design team and others to provide software solutions on a rapidly evolving platform. One of the first projects you will take on will be to develop embedded real time control software to manage the operation of a Stirling engine that drives an electrical generator. Concepts including engine start-up, monitoring, control and various shut-down scenarios are important features controlled by the embedded software. Your demonstrated knowledge and experience in systems and software product development, including C and C++ will be vital to your success. The evolution of this software is a critical ongoing project at SES.
