CATV/Data/Telephone Installation Technician

Prime contractor for a major CATV provider is looking for additional Installation Technicians for it's growing markets in Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Hilton Head.  Successful applicants will perform a variety of duties pertaining to cable television/data/phone installation in customer homes, apartments and commercial properties; prepares daily reports on number and type discrepancies identified and corrected; makes light repairs in the field to secure facilities, repairs contingent upon time restraints and work load requirements; performs some new connects, reconnects, some disconnects, some additional outlets, installs and/or removes converters; climbs poles with proper equipment (safety belt, safety strap and climbers), ladders or other structures as needed; lifts and carries loads up to 75-90 lbs; completes paperwork, including, but not limited to: material requisitions, customer equipment agreements, vehicle check sheets, and damaged cable reports; provides general assistance to other employees as directed.

- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

 

- Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Should also be able to write simple correspondence. May be required to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

 

- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

 

- Must have the ability to efficiently grasps/use hand tools including hammer, drills, crimpers, wrenches, etc, required. * Ability to effectively use/read test equipment (leakage detector, signal level meter, TV, etc. ) required.  Abilty to read and write in English and use arithmetic skills to accurately complete daily work assignments required.  Ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently under minimal supervision required.  Projects a cooperative and positive attitude towards customers, employees, and the Company.
